Cat
My item is my cat. I chose this item because my cat is extremely special to me. This is a story I find special because it's how I got my cat. One day in November 2023, maybe a little before or after Thanksgiving, my mother showed me a video of a tiny kitten. The kitten zoomed out from the bush, meowing at my mom. The tiny striped creature would not stop meowing and kept following her. My mom didn't want the cat to be hit by a car while she was crossing the street, since that's how she got to work. She tricked the cat and ran away. She told me she had taken this video a week prior. I told her I really wanted the kitten and I wanted to take it home. My mom did not think we would find the cat, since we DO live in the Bronx, and sometimes my mom makes once-in-a-lifetime agreements. She said if we find the cat, we could keep him. So, we went outside in the cold air, in search of the cat. After about an hour of searching and feeding other cats, we nearly gave up. But then we heard a meow, and out came a little kitty rolling over my foot. It took a while to get the cat into the crate we were carrying around, but we did it. We decided to name him Cleo. When we got him, he had a few teeth missing and unable to grow back, but he is not in any pain now; his cute tongue has to be out forever.
