Candlesticks

These candlesticks were made by our great, great grandfather Tobias Horowitz who was born in 1816 in Russia. He immigrated to the US in 1882. He was a plumber, a tinsmith and a roofer. We use these candlesticks on some Friday nights when we light the candles to celebrate Shabbat. (Shabbat is a Jewish holiday that happens every Friday night and ends at sundown on Saturday night). In our family we go around the table saying what we're thankful for. We also sing songs, say prayers and eat challah. Tobias (David) died in NY Jan. 26, 1916.
