The Holy Qur’an

Relationship: Child of im/migrant

Islam is my religion, the Holy Qur’an is the book that we (Muslims) abide by. It is what separates me from other people who do not follow the same religion as me. As a women it helps me remember that I can not behave in ways that are haram (sinful) and participate in activities that are haram (sinful). It helps me carry myself in more respectful ways that I probably would not have if I was not Muslim and did not read the Qur’an. I want to pass this down to my kids because I want them to look at it in a similar way. I want my kids to look at the Qur'an as something that separates them from others. As tough as it may get sometimes with all the temptations around you, you have to remember that you are different and you have to abide by certain rules because you are Muslim. I want the Qur’an to be something that helps them keep their morals.
