 Buddha Statue
My object is a laughing Buddha statue.  My grandmother got it while visiting China.  My Buddha statue is made of porcelain, but they can be found in many different materials(wood, jade, exc.)  The Buddha statue is used for decoration, and will bring wealth, good fortune and prosperity to wherever it is displayed.  It’s a reminder to smile, be happy, and enjoy your life.  Anyone can use a Buddha statue, but it originated in Asia.  Most people, including my family,do not worship Buddha.  Less than 20% of people in China actually worship him. I chose this object because Buddha is a very important person to the chinese culture.  Almost like a God,but not exactly.  It shows that my culture believes in Talisman (objects that bring good luck\wealth.) I always wondered if it matter where you put a Buddha statue, or where’s the best place to put it?  I also want to figure out the full story of Buddha.
