Bracelet
This bracelet was passed down for generations from my grandma to my mom and then to me. When my mom was 16, my grandma gave her the bracelet, and it was something my mom treasured. When they came to the US they did not bring anything with them; they left their pictures and other possessions in Guyana. This made the bracelet special to my mom because she finally had something to call her own. The bracelet symbolizes a sense of security in a way because it's how my mom was able to hold onto something as her own and start a tradition. When I turned 16, my mom gave me the bracelet and told me that it was passed down to her from her mom and I intend to pass the bracelet down to future generations.
