My object is called an esclava.  An esclava is used a lot in many hispanic cultures.  It is a bracelet, given to children by their parents, that has the child's name engraved.  My esclava is important to me because it is something that everyone in my family has.  Also, the design of the esclava was chosen by my great grandmother, who passed away about ten years ago, so it reminds me a lot of her.  It is like a reminder of her and of all of my family in Mexico.
