When I first came to NYC, I had bought a round trip ticket. I was planning just to visit and learn more about this city. I did not want to stay in NYC. I decided to stay here, however, because the economy in my country, Venezuela, had collapsed. Unfortunately, I had not brought many things with me. The most important thing that I brought was my phone, but I lost it in the subway. One of the few things I brought to New York when I moved here from Venezuela was my book bag which I’ve used ever since high school. My school bag brings back many memories. I remember when I first received it as a birthday gift and how I carried it on many beach trips in my country. Also, I put my lunch in the bag every day and I never forgot to carry it. Today, I use this bag when I go to work and school. This school bag is very important because it reminds me of my past.
