A very important object in my life is my necklace. It was given to me by my godparents, on my 15th birthday. In the mexican culture turning 15, for the girls, is very important, it symbolizes turning into a young woman, coming of age. When a girl turns 15 they are gifted many types of gifts. The gifts gifted is usually blessed by the priest. I cherish the necklace, that I was gifted, the most because it signifies faith in God, in myself, and in my life. The necklace is meant to be worn everyday. It is not only important to me but my parents also because the necklace is a protection that will accompany me as I enter into this new phase in life.
