Bindi
In Hindu culture, a bindi is not just a red dot/tilak on the forehead but is a significant part of culture. This bindi signifies good fortune and is placed right where one's third eye is. This third eye is the seat of intuition and wisdom in every human. Made from vermilion powder, bindis are natural and very good for the skin and are good for the brain, as it stimulates nerves that help enhance the brains thinking when worn. The chakra where the bindi is placed is called the ajna chakra, which directly translates to intuition and intellect. The bindi enhances this chakra which is very good for the brain. Bindis are worn by many women on a daily basis, and some men wear a tilak on their forehead as well. As you can see, it is a very common practice in the Hindu religion and culture. One of the many superstitions about the bindi is if you don’t have a bindi on your forehead, it is very easy to get manipulated by other people, which is why in the Hindu culture, wearing a bindi is so significant not only for the looks, but for the anatomy and the way the body, mind, and third eye works.
