Basketball
The object I chose was a basketball. Basketball has been in my life since I was about 5. I fell in love with it, and ever since, I have played it. My family has a history of basketball, so that plays a role as well. I have good days when I am hitting every shot and I am being a good teammate, and I have bad days when I am missing every shot and am not being a good teammate. I've had good years when my team wins the championship, and I have bad years like when I hurt my knee, had to get surgery, and didn't get to finish my 8th grade year, and could not play when I was a freshman. But it is a process. Something that I have to work for. Basketball has taught me a lot of life lessons. Like how to be a good person or role model, how to fight adversity, and how to come together as a team to get something done. Without basketball, my life would be pretty different, and I could not even imagine it. It means so much because all my family members believe in me. My mom, dad, uncles, and cousins all say good things to me, and that is what keeps me going. I love and am very thankful for my family. There are some days when I don't want to play basketball and I don't feel like doing anything. But I just take a second to remember the end goal and trust in God and keep on pushing.
