Barbacoa
For as many years as I can remember, I have always seen this dish at family get-togethers. For sure, this dish has been passed on, and I can relate this to how my family came to America due to the fact that they have kept a tradition going. I feel that the work and love put into the dish also represents how my family members and ancestors were hard working in their time. This hard work may have also come with a plan, which was to provide better for their family, and anyone after them. Doing so, would be taking the move to California, where the family is only growing, now, in a new place. This new place would be Fresno, which eventually led to my father and mother meeting, which then led to our family starting. Like I said, the dish of barbacoa is what I feel represents my family greatly, considering where it comes from, and the amount of people deep in my family who have made it. I get nostalgia thinking about it as is it always served at family events, where it is great to see family all together.
