Baptism
My object is a picture of my baptism. During the ceremony, the priest dips the child in the holy water, the parents are summoned to the altar to receive a candle from the center candle to light their own. More prayers are recited, and oils and embellishments are blessed; by the end, the entire church is aware of the baby's identity, the mother and father's names, and the godparents. The second half of the celebration includes eating and gathering together. Until now I realize how much this event was important for me. It is about a tradition in my family to welcome and bless a child.
