Banana Bread
My object is taken from a long line of tradition. From soda bread to another creation with a well-known name, banana bread, my family has given the entanglement of this heritage soda bread many names over the years. Banana bread is a loaf-shaped bread, typically brown or golden yellow, and is moist on the inside but slightly crisp on the outside. This banana bread is typically gifted to others or used for a family gathering during the holidays. Because bananas were found to be a major substitute for sugar, many started cooking with them in baked goods, and the recipe later earned itself a title in widely known cookbooks. My identity is reliant on my family and where they have traveled. I know that my family has kept this tradition with them since they have moved all around the world, and this recipe was meant to invoke good values from something so harsh on numerous people at the time, the potato famine. My family has lived through rough years, and I learned that since we came to the United States, my ancestors have moved from Ireland to Pennsylvania to California to Texas, all to pursue better opportunities. There is always a time for people to come and share their ideas with others and express their love in a way that is best shown through baking in my family. This is a traditional aspect that will never leave the hearts of my family, despite how the tradition began.
