My object is the Bajan flag. I remember when my father brought me this at a caribbean parade. My father gave me this when i was 9 I was happy/excited. My dad gave me this Bajan flag and now I have it for when I go to caribbean parades. The history behind the Bajan flag is the blue represents the sea and the sky of Barbados, while gold represents the sand of the island’s beach. The symbol at the centre of the flag represents the trident of the mythical sea god, Neptune. The shaft of the trident is broken symbolising Barbados’ break from Britain. The Bajan flag came from Barbados where my father was born. The Bajan flag is 51 years old. It’s important to my family because it can remind us of our friends and family. It’s important to me because the Bajan flag reminds me of my dad. I’ll never forget when my father brought me the Bajan flag.
