Army Dress Uniform
My object is my grandfather’s dress attire from when he was in WWII. This has been in our family since the end of the war. My dad has been holding on to it since my grandfather died, and it is very special to him since it is one of the only things left of him. My grandfather was in the 33rd Infantry Regiment and served in the Panama Canal Zone, then British Guiana, Surinam (Dutch Guiana), French Guiana, Trinidad, and Puerto Rico. He switched between domestic and foreign service a few times. He entered service April 30, 1942 in Altoona, PA. He served from April 30, 1942 to March 23, 1946 where he separated in Fort Meade MD.
