This Antique Jewelry Holder has been passed down to every firstborn granddaughter for five generations on my mom's side of the family. I wasn't lucky enough to meet the grandmother Sophie who began this tradition, but my mom was. She has told me stories about her for as long as I can remember. She describes her as a kind, and elegant woman who loved her family. My mom tells me stories about how they would love to bake together. To this day we continue to use her recipes in the kitchen. She lived in Buffalo, New York, which is where everyone in the family lived up until my family moved to Florida about ten years ago. This Jewelry holder came with us. It's placed on my dresser as decoration and holds some of my nicer jewelry. It is a great reminder of who she was and what she cared about, which was family. I look forward to passing this down to my future daughter one day. This jewelry holder is special to me because it symbolizes love and the importance of family.
