My teacher gave us an assignment to write about something that means a lot to us, and I chose my Xbox. My Xbox is important to me because I take it everywhere I go. I bring it to my dad’s house and my mom’s house, and it kind of makes both places feel the same. Even when the rules change at each house, I’m still allowed to play, and that makes things feel more normal. When I’m on my Xbox, I can relax, talk to my friends, and just have fun, no matter where I am. That’s why my Xbox really means something to me. Before I had my Xbox, switching between my parents’ houses felt really stressful and lonely. I didn't have anything that stayed the same when I went back and forth, and it always felt like I was starting over every time I moved. I didn’t have a good way to talk to my friends, and most of the time I just sat around feeling bored and thinking about how different I was. Now that I have my Xbox, I feel like I have something consistent that goes with me, and makes things a lot easier, not bored.
