The Alcarez family My grandmother's maiden name; came from Cuba during the Cuban Missile Crisis. My great-grandfather and grandmother emigrated to this country to escape a potential nuclear conflict south of the border. I do not have much information on life in the family prior to this immigration. Tracking down relatives has been very difficult. On my grandfather's side of the family we stem from Germany. His relatives immigrated from Germany to Quincy in the 1800s. My grandfather , one of seven, met my grandmother in the 19 '50s. Together they had two daughters. Karen and Kristen. Kristen being 2 years older. At 22 years old Kristen was murdered in Brockton by her boyfriend. Her case and Brockton District Court is a piece of History due to the fact it was the first case to use DNA testing.  Karen is my mother,  born me in 1999 and my brother Shane in 2002.
