Burek is an Albanian dish that has been passed down from generation to generation in my family. Typically, this pastry is filled with spinach and cheese, but there are other alternatives, including meat or potatoes. The process of creating this unique dish starts by first laying dough across a flat surface. Then, you may add whatever toppings or fillings you desire. To complete the dish, roll the dough and shape it into a spiral. You will end up with a crispy pie to share with your entire family. My mom and grandma have primarily made this dish over the course of my entire life with love and tenderness. This recipe has been a staple in my life, and I have learned to embrace my culture through cuisine.
