A Wok

My object is a wok that was brought all the way from China. This wok is a symbolic memory of my grandfather who was a great cook. He used to cook many culinary Chinese dishes for the entire family. Most of his recipes were cooked on this very wok for years. During the time Japan invaded China, there was a scarcity of food. My grandfather had to learn to cook the hard way at a really young age. He taught my dad how to cook at a young age as well, so that he would never have to experience the hardships of extreme hunger. This wok was passed down from my grandfather to my dad; who inherited all of his recipes. This wok connects me with my grandfather through all the precious memories he and my dad shared together. It is very important to me because it represents all the hard work  my grandfather  put into cooking the family .  This wok is over 20 years old which means even more to me especially my dad.  As I learn more of my grandfathers recipes  I will learn more of his and my dads past together. I hope someday this wok will be passed down to me so that I can be a great cook like him.
