A Pink Hippo
My mother migrated to America from China to get a better education and overall a better life. My mother and her family were farmers that lived in a village. She grew up without any toys and would run barefoot outside and climb trees. It was two weeks before she turned ten years old that she had arrived in America. However, before she left, one of her closest cousins gave her a pink stuffed hippo. It was the only stuffed animal she owned before coming to America. This hippo had been with my mother through everything that had happen in her life while being in America. This hippo was an object of comfort and reminded her of her past. Even after twenty six years, it's still in good condition, besides one nostril being missing.
