A bullet necklace
The bullet necklace I have is one of the most important things I own. It holds a small amount of my Uncle’s ashes, and my Aunt gave it to me after he passed away.
I remember the day she gave it to me, we were at her house sitting in the living room, and everything felt quiet and heavy. She told me she wanted me to have something that would keep him close to me no matter where I go. Before he passed, my Uncle was living with my Grandpa, and I would always go over to my Grandpa’s house. I got to see him a lot during that time, which made me feel really happy in the end because every time I get sad about his passing I remember the good memories we’ve had and or spent together and I remember before he passed I got to spend a lot of time with him and it was really cutting it close because I didn’t realize I’ve spent so much time with over the years till after he moved in with my grandpa I would see him more often.
I remember being at family gatherings, like cookouts, and holidays, where he was always laughing, joking, and bringing joy to everyone around him. This bullet necklace reminds me of all those moments and keeps him close to me every day.
