Winged Photo passed on by my father.

This is an image of a winged necklace I was given by my father's relatives after his death.

I never encountered the man, since I entered foster care when I was young, thus I knew very little about him. All I understood was that I was his sole son and that he felt sorrowful about me and my sister leaving. While growing up, I could only learn about him from the gossip of my aunts, uncles, and cousins since he wasn’t on social media. Upon learning he had liver cancer, I experienced a blend of emotions. I felt resentment that he was in a terminal condition and never witnessed my growth, and sorrow that I would never hear him say, "I'm proud of you." Soon after he died, I got a parcel from my cousin then, which held this necklace along with a note. The note contained a message from him addressed to all his children, but the necklace was intended just for me. He seemingly purchased the necklace several years back and discovered it by chance in a shop, but I felt thankful to possess at least a tiny piece of him that one day I could give to my children.
