Watch From Russia
My object is a gold watch that my great great aunt brought to America when she immigrated from Russia. She had her initials (AG) imprinted in the clasp. The watch got passed down through my family, and when my mother got married, my grandma, her mom, got my moms initials (DLW) engraved as well. This watch is one of the very few items my family was able to bring to the USA. The watch was very expensive for my great great aunt to purchase, but she loved it and wanted to bring a part of her Russian culture to America with her. Now that my mom has this watch in her possession, it gives her a deeper connection to her greataunt.
