This watch shown above was worn by my grandfather and my great grandfather. It first belonged to my great grandfather, then my grandfather and lastly my dad. This watch was purchased in the 1950s. This watch was given to my grandfather after my great grandfather had unfortunately passed away in the 1980s. My great grandfather wasn't wealthy, he immigrated from Moldova to the United States. When he came to the United States he sold fruit at the hunt point fruit mark in the Bronx from 6pm-5am every single day. Meaning he worked overnight every night. Since this watch was purchased around the 1950s it's been apart/in my family for 73 years, meaning almost 8 decades. This watch is very valuable not because it's expensive but because it's been a part of my family for generations. This watch will then be passed down to my twin brother when my dad thinks it is the right time. This watch is made with leather, gold and glass. This watch means a lot to me because it was/was worn by 3 members of my family and almost 4 when my brother started wearing it. I hope this watch will continue to be passed down to the male members of my family as my family expands. My great grandfather spent almost 6 months working to be able to afford this watch because he wanted it so badly. This really shows that hardwork pays off. This watch is so beautiful and has so much value!
