The Virgin Mary is an important saint whom me and my family believe in. We pray to it. On her birthday we celebrate and decorate her. We also go to church because they invite many people to church and sing to her and bring her many flowers. It's basically an event in church to celebrate her birthday. They give food and hot chocolate because it's during winter. So there traditional foods are tamales, posole, hot chocolate, coffee or champurado. There's also danzas they do. They're called Matachines. They have a big feathered crown in their head and body and in the ankles they carry some noisy things so it makes a beautiful sound each time they stomp and move around.
