Vigorón
Vigorón is a traditional Nicaraguan dish. It contains cabbage salad (curtido), boiled yuca, and chicharrones. This dish is served in family/friends reunions since it's easy to prepare. In small gatherings with friends and families, my grandmother always used to make Vigorón for all of us. I guess since my family no longer lives in Nicaragua nor visits as much as they used to, Vigorón is their little reminder of the their home. This little traditional dish took place in many events in my families lives and brought us together. My grandmother has been making this dish since my mother was little and then as my mom grew older (and my aunts) they all learned how to make this dish. Although I am not a big fan of Vigorón, it takes place in many Nicaraguan's households This is one of our traditional unique dishes.
