In June 2025, I had an incredible opportunity to guest play for UMF Fjölnir’s Under-16 Girls Team from Iceland during the USA Cup week-long tournament in Blaine, Minnesota. It was one of the most memorable soccer experiences I've ever had. From my very first time meeting them, I was already treated like a part of the team. Even though I was stepping into a new team and culture, the girls immediately acted like I had been playing with them for as long as the rest of them had.Throughout the week, we spent countless hours on and off the pitch together, growing our friendships. The friendships I formed with those teammates were truly special—our bond went beyond the game. There are so many moments like celebrating with each other after every goal that I'll never forget. As a thank you for being a guest player on their team, they let me keep my entire kit—from the jersey to the socks. What made it even more personal was that they had the jersey custom-made with my home club number, #90, printed on the back. That made the jersey now, not just one of my favorite soccer jerseys, but one of my favorite things that I own.Now that the tournament is over and they all had to go back to Iceland, I'm still in contact with almost every single one of my teammates. They have invited me to Iceland and I do have future plans to go train with them, hopefully in 2026 - that would be a dream come true. But for now all I have is social media and my jersey.
