Trunk
My family has many stories about immigrating to the United States. One of my stories is about how my Dad’s side came to America. It all started in 1898. My great-great grandmother, Maria, got on a ship with her trunk full of all her possessions, when she was 18 years old. She set sail from Poland to New York. On the ship, she met the love of her life, but she didn't know it yet. After spending a few years in New York, she traveled to Chicago. In Chicago, she reunited with the guy she met on the boat, his name was Andrew, my soon to be great- great grandfather. She and Andrew got married two years later, and had a baby girl that was my great grandmother, Grammy. The trunk is currently at my grandmother’s house in Delaware.
