Triangle shirtwaist factory fire

My artifact is an image of the triangle shirtwaist factory fire. My great great grandmother had recently immigrated to America and had a job working in the factory. The day the fire happened was a Saturday, the one day she had off, and she was lucky enough to have not been there when the fire started. Many of her friends and coworker died within the factory but had it not been for luck or the decision of some higher power; she, my great-grandmother, my grandmother, my mom, and of course I would not be here today. When I see this image, I think about how lucky she was to have been able to live a full life. To have kids and start a business of her own. To create something for herself and more so to create something for future generations to come.
