Traditional Clothing
Clothes are important in my story because they represent where my family comes from and how our culture has changed over time. My parents told me that when they first came to a different country away from our country, they only brought a few pieces of clothing with them. Some of those clothes were traditional and reminded them of home. As time went on, they started wearing more American style clothing to fit in and find jobs. But during holidays and special events, they still wear traditional clothes to stay connected to their culture. For me, clothes show both sides of my identity. At school, I wear normal everyday outfits like hoodies and jeans. But at family gatherings, I sometimes wear traditional clothing, which makes me feel proud of where I come from. More about our traditional clothes, our traditional clothes mostly white, red and green with some stripe going down to the side or something going side to side and there's many different style out there, but the common one is just white with red and green together, and also we have scarf that we can add to the style if we want, it's just a small scarf, we can either put around our shoulder or put it around the neck to add the look to it. Clothes help tell the story of migration, change, and keeping traditions alive.
