My dad has a beautiful silver locket that was my great-great grandfather's back in the day. While he was not the first generation in America there are not many things my family has from that far back. It is in great condition and it still ticks in you wind it. Its ability to still stick is a cornerstone to show grit, determination, and persistence. I don't know if he will pass it on to me but I think it is a special family heirloom. I think I am fortunate to have something that goes several generations back and hope everyone can have their own special heirloom. It also has small scratches to show the weather that my family has faced over the years. I think the Silver Locket is a heirloom that will last many more generations.
