Thread Spool
The object/artifact that represents me is a thread spool. This object represents me because all the women in my family grew up learning to sew, whether it was by hand or on a sewing machine. Even till this day, my mom sews her own clothes and sometimes my clothes too. I remember when I was 5 years old, my grandma was working on her sewing machine, and she would let me push the bottom of the machine with my little feet to keep the machine going. Now that I have turned 17, I am starting to learn how to sew as well. I might not be that good, but I try. Living in Bangladesh and seeing so many people sewing really makes me reflect on how much my country impacts the world. Going into branded clothing stores near me and seeing the word "made in Bangladesh" on the tags of the clothes makes me feel proud that on the other side of the world, my grandma is sewing herself, contributing to the impact.
