The Yellow Blanket
This little yellow blanket was given to me by my great-great-grandmother when I was born. Everyone always called her great grandma Clarke but her name was Nellie May Clarke. When I was born, I was put in the NICU and she thought the hospital blankets were not very comfortable. She was a very sweet old lady and she was on my dad's side of the family. She was born 1905 and died in 2005. When she died, she was 105 years old. She made the blanket right before I was born and then gave it to me later that year. She was born in Loretta, Kansas. She was the first generation in the United States. She was a strong and very powerful woman who is a good role model for me and I will always look up to her.
