This is a southern dish that was introduced to me by my dad. This dish is called gumbo; most people that are from Louisiana know what this dish is. It's made up of lit’l smokies, beef smoked sausage, hot dogs, chicken, shrimp, and crabs. This dish has been passed down two generations and my cousins and I will be the third. We eat gumbo in the colder months of the year. Our family tradition is to eat gumbo on Christmas eve every year. This dish brings my whole family together to celebrate and eat what was given to us by my grandmother. My grandmother and dad are a big part of why this tradition is a tradition in our family. As the next generation, I know my duty so this dish will be kept as a tradition in my family.
