The Jamaican Flag
In my CBL I spoke about the Jamaican flag because it is personal to me. All of my family is from Montego Bay, Jamaica. My twin sister and I were first generation to be born in the US. The Jamaican flag represents when America received their independence from the British. Black depicts the strength and creativity of the people; Gold, the natural wealth and beauty of sunlight; and green, hope and agricultural resources. Even though I wasn't born in Jamaica. My family preach the culture so much to our family. This really opened up my eyes to my culture and made me realize how much Jamaica has to offer. My grandma had the flag since Jamaica and when she migrated here to America she still had it. My grandma is 84 now and I am 16, and it's a blessing to know where we are come from and where we are now. They came along away and they fought for their rights. Now my family owns several business and it was only through God grace and mercy. That's another reason why my family is so big on religion. We believe that nothing is done through us, we wouldn’t be nothing without the man above.
