My mother actually wrote a book about our family's harrowing journey from Italy, and the trials and tribulations faced as they worked to re-establish homes and lives in the U.S. To me, the book is proof that fact is far more interesting than fiction. I am so profoundly proud of our great grandparents, and eternally grateful for both the sacrifices they made and the determination they possessed to stay the course under such adversity; and of my mother, for writing this book.
