Prayer mat

My artifact is my prayer mat. It's soft like a rug and has a beautiful gold stitching creating a lovely design along with the purple color.  . The prayer mat has a much deeper meaning other than it just being a mat with pretty designs. It originated back thousands of years during prophethood. Our beloved prophets informed Muslims to pray 5 times a day on clean cloth. This can relate to the quote “We the people” because this is also for everyone you don’t need to be Muslim to pray 5 times a day and prayer is not only an act of worship it has benefits to a person's mental health it makes you feel at peace. My object can relate to NYC because every once-a-year Muslims from all over the world come and pray during Ramadan. We can use this object when we feel like we are in a bad state of mental health or you are trying to find peace, so you turn to God. It's significant to me because the prayer mat brings me peace and closeness to God. The US constitution guarantees rights to everyone, ,and this story shows that because anyone can pray to God and you don't need to be Muslim to do so.
