When my mom was 18 she wanted to move from Mexico to the United States. Later on in life she got to move. While moving though, my mom decided to bring a photo of her mom (my grandma) on the beach. She wanted to bring it so she can have her mom remember her. Also, if she struggles in life she can have the picture with her and remember to never give up . The main reason my mom brought it with her is because her mom died when she was 3-5 months old because of breast cancer. So my mom never knew that much about her mom , and had to move from the U.S to mexico to live with other family members of hers that adopted her because of the death of her mom . Also it was the only thing she had to remember .To this day my mom still has this photo and tells us things about our Grandma. Everytime I see this photo I think about what if my real grandma lived a bit longer for me to meet her.
