Things come and go but there are always things left behind to tell the story.  Similar, In my case My mom has this necklace from her mothers mother and it tells a story that provides the history of our family.  This necklace was passed down from my great grandmother to my grandmother to my mother. This necklace was brought across seas from the Czech republic to america many many years ago.  Although, it might not be the most appealing or valuable piece of jewelry, but the meaning and story it beholds is priceless.  The irony in this necklace is that it resembles a young woman wearing her own necklace. The materials of this necklace are pretty basic; metal, pearl and gold.  While we know much about this single piece of jewelry there is still much more that is a mystery.  However, we do not know many questions such as, Where was it bought? How much did it cost? Was it a gift? And these are just a few of the many unknown thing about this necklace. In fact, this necklace is my mothers but still it is meaningful to me because it is the roots of my family first hand. This necklace is associated with mystery, thus, it gives me a sense of connection the earlier members of my family and those who are the reason why I am here today.
