A mariachi hat from Mexico

These Mariachi hats represent the Mexican side of my family. It is important to my cultural identity and also some traditions it has. Mariachis are a big thing in Mexico and Mexican culture. At every important event in my family, we have a mariachi band there. They’ve been at my cousins and sister’s quinceaneras, graduation parties, and any other important event we have had. My mom got these Mariachi hats while she was inM Mexico. My mom bought these Mariachi hats for my family to represent our culture. She also bought them to show my family's love of mariachi music. Every time there is a mariachi band, everyone stops what they’re doing and just listens. No one is on their phone or talking to someone else. Currently, the Mariachi hats are hung on a wall in my living room because the living room is the first room you see when you walk into my house. When seeing these Mariachi hats, you can see what our culture/ethnicity is. Growing up in a family where I have parents of 2 different cultures, it can sometimes be hard to understand my cultural identity. When looking at these Mariachi hats, it reminds me of a part of me that I can sometimes forget. These hats remind me who I am as a person and one of my identities.
