The House is where my mother and her siblings grew up, the house was always open to people in need and new friends, either the parents or the siblings would meet. My family has always been kind and letting anyone come over to have a good home cooked meal and sometimes a place to stay for the night. My mother’s parents came from Vermont to Virginia. I feel like my story isn’t unique as it is a story about how my family's identity and how they treat others. It didn’t matter about the person's skin color or beliefs, the home is where many great friendships began and would continue to grow. This story reminds me of many people I have come to know and how kind and generous they were to let me come to their home and make me feel welcome.
