This blue pot is a part of our family's tradition. It all started when my great great grandfather immigrated to Queens, NY in 1893 from the Campania Region of Italy. My great-great-grandparents had several daughters who learned to cook traditional Italian meals.  My great-great-aunt Lucia created a special Italian dinner. She and her sisters would cook in their multi-family's home basement starting early Sunday mornings and would serve it Sunday nights to their families. The meal consisted of homemade meatballs, beef, and homemade sauce. They would serve it with Rigatoni pasta and sprinkle it with parmesan cheese. My grandmother learned the recipe and how to cook from her aunts. My grandmother makes this delicious meal for us on special holidays and occasions. She always cooks it in a blue pot.
