teddy bear

The object I chose to write about is the teddy bear my mom gave me when I was a toddler. She told me that my grandma gave it to her when she was young, and her grandma gave it to my grandma when she was young. My great grandmother received it as a gift when she was a child living in Austria. She migrated to the U.S when she was around 10 years old right before World War Two. She was very scared to leave because she didn’t know anything else except her life there. The bear helped her get through many difficult times because it always reminded her of home. The bear is dark red and since it’s so old it has lost one of its eyes. The bears name is Rosie. It is wearing a light brown corduroy jacket over his red fur. He also has long bright ears that pop out. When my mom gave me the bear she said it should always remind me of our culture and heritage. Whenever I look at the bear it reminds me of my mom and it gives me a warm feeling deep down inside. While the bear may not be in perfect condition, it still remains important to me and my family.
