Tea Set
Some of the only objects that have been passed down in my family are tea sets. They were in my grandma on my mom's side's house. We don't know much about them, and we don't know much about my family or how they came to the US. My grandma's father was from England, but he passed when she was very young. She didn't remember or know very much about him. The only story I remember her ever telling me about her father was when he came home one night, drunk on a horse. My grandma loved to drink tea, having more than 5 cups a day most of the time. She loved to share tea with me and my sisters, and shared the comfort of a warm cup and a good conversation. She left behind several tea sets which we have always loved. Some are from England, and the others are from Austria. I don't know the specific history of these objects or my family members who came over here and settled in New York. I do know that they must have been very special, and that tea time has continued to be passed down in my family from them.
