Have you ever tasted a tamale? Well i'm here to tell you what a tamale is and how its made, to make a tamale you have to prepare the corn husk by soaking it in warm or hot water for 20-30 minutes until their soft and pliable while the corn husk is soaking while you make the filling the which is just meat with salsa. How my mom usually makes the dough is by using the water that she cook the chicken in, it makes the dough really soft and it adds flavor to it, next its the final step before cooking them, you will use the corn husk and smear a thin layer of dough on the corn husk and you will add your meat with sauce it takes 1.5-2 hours to make but its worth it.The reason why I chose tamales as my story is because it's really important to me, it's something you learn eating in Mexico, it's something that me and my family cook when there's a holiday or on my birthday.Whenever we cook them there's always that warm feeling that you have maybe not all will have that but i do seeing my family getting together to make this food is really special to me because it reminds me of my past when i was with my grandma how she would always make them and i would watch her from the kitchen table and how she would tell me stories about her life its something ill never forget even as i'm more grown. Now i want to tell you the backstory of tamales, surprisedly  tamales are one of the oldest surviving food in the world with roots tracking back to Mesoamerica between 8,000 and 5,000BC,Ancient mesoamerica civilizations include Olmec,Toltec,Maya, and the Aztecs.
