Table Through Time

mahogany table from Germany
mahogany table from Germany

My great-great-great-grandfather Doebber took this table apart and carried it in his bag when he came to the United States on a boat. It has been in my grandmother's father's family since then. When my grandmother was little it was in her Aunt Margaret's house and she gave it to her, and then my grandmother gave it to my mom. This table is unique because for fourteen years, I had no idea this table had any significance in our family. Now that I know, I feel like I am connected more to my family's history. I am glad that I now know about my families German roots, that I initially didn't even know about!
