This is a sword from my great grandpa, he got it in Japan. My great grandpa was born in 1919, and he served in the army as a major during WWII. He travelled to Japan at the end of his service, and he got this sword as a decorative piece, it was never actually used in warfare. It's been passed down to my grandma, and now to my family. It's been with us in each house, and it's a great reminder of the importance of the military and service within my family- my dad served in the army, and my brother is currently in training for the army. I love hearing stories about my great grandpa and this sword is a connection to him and his service.
