Sumalak is a dish belonging to Uzbekistan. Sumalak is very sweet. Sumalak is a sweet dish prepared only for the spring holiday of Navruz. It's a holiday for us so it is a national holiday in Uzbekistan. My mom does not forget this holiday even after coming to America. She celebrates the holiday by welcoming people home. She celebrates only a few celebrations and this one is included among them. Sumalak is a sweet food item. It is a sweet dish. Uzbek’s enjoy tasting this food after their regular meal. As researchers state, this food increases the energy and power of people too. It is an Uzbek tradition that winter is cold. A great deal of stamina is lost by individuals during the winter season and this dish eaten during the month of March is of importance for people to gain energy.My Mom makes Sumalak only once a year which is on 21st of March. It is actually celebrated during a series of days in Uzbekistan, and March 21 is the chief one. My fellow countrymen have long been preparing this dish for centuries and the recipes may vary from place to place. In Uzbekistan everybody eats Sumalak and in America our family and friends go on just the same tradition.
