Strenght and Courage
My parents got married in 1991 in Guanajuato, Mexico. Months prior to them getting married I found out my father would be working illegaly with my grandfather in the fields near by San Francisco. He stated to me the reason why he would be in the states would be to gather money since he knew the moment he would marry my mother it would be a huge necesity they would need in order to somewhat survive in Mexico. Months after they got married, my father had left my mother in Mexico again to get more money in the states. My mother was devisated by this and asked my father if she could go with him to the states that way they can both be bringing income and it would be a bit easier. My father at first didn't agree but soon came to his senses and decided to send money so that my mother could cross the boarder illegally by what they refer to as "el coyote". Soon the year was 1992, when she was crossing over and little did my mother know she was already expecting my eldest sister . Thank God that she arrived in the United States safe with my sister in her womb that year. Throughout the years my parents have always been afraid to be returned back to Mexico but just recently about 3-4 years ago my eldest sisters fixed their residency and are legal to be here in the United States. They have always reminded my sisters and I the importance of obtaining an education because that is the only way one can be successful here; therefore my parents have always been my inspiration to get an education, make them proud and be sure that the sacrifices they have faced being here makes a difference.
